A Memorable Guest on Tour: Jeremy Dexter Joins Our Morse Adventure
We recently had the great pleasure of welcoming a very special guest on one of our Morse, Lewis & Endeavour walking tours in Oxford — Jeremy Dexter, the son of the late Colin Dexter, creator of the iconic Inspector Morse.
For fans of the series, Colin Dexter’s novels and the television adaptations have become inseparable from the city of Oxford. His stories brought to life not only unforgettable characters but also the unique atmosphere, architecture, and intrigue of our beautiful city. So, to have Jeremy join us for a tour was a real honour — a moment that felt both personal and profound.
Jeremy was kind enough to share his thoughts afterwards:
“I really enjoyed the tour – a great mix of history, the Oxford lifestyle, and references to the Morse world. Everything felt like a professionally run operation.”
Our guide Rebecca, who led the tour, was thrilled to have Jeremy along and enjoyed discussing his father’s legacy with him. Together with our group of fellow Morse fans, they retraced the steps of Morse, Lewis and Endeavour through the streets and colleges of Oxford, uncovering the real-life inspirations behind the stories that have captivated millions.
At Morse Lewis & Endeavour Tours, we pride ourselves on creating immersive and engaging experiences that go beyond just pointing out filming locations. We weave together Oxford’s rich history, local culture, and the fictional world of Morse in a way that brings the stories to life — whether you’re a lifelong fan or discovering them for the first time.
It was truly special to share that experience with someone whose connection to the Morse universe is so deeply personal. Thank you, Jeremy, for joining us — and for your kind words.
If you’d like to walk in the footsteps of Morse, Lewis and Endeavour, we’d love to welcome you on a tour soon.
